Dear teachers, students, parents and guardians welcome to College Saint Jean Nyarusange teaching-Learning Website.
The general purpose of this website is to provide and to upgrade lessons by keeping teaching-Learning activity to our children through ICT (E-Learning system) when they are at home.
This system goes with the implementation of Rwanda government education policy, where schools are invited to use ICT in their daily teaching-Learning activity.
Since March 14th 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic arrived in RWANDA and schools closed, the idea of having our school teaching-Learning Website was accelerated because students were seemed to stay home for a long time without any academic assistance. This caused a big challenge to our society and specifically to the parents who have to manage these jobless children for a long time.
Therefore as teachers, we need to stay in contact with our learners, and continue to assist them through online teaching-learning system as the worldwide does today, hoping that very soon our Almighty God will help to overcome this pandemic and meet our kids face to face.
As the use of this system is new for our students, the following briefings will help for achieving our goals:
SOME GUIDE-LINES.
All students are invited to continue their studies online (on our website) where all subjects will be uploaded and every student will be given a password and a user name allowing him/her to access our Website.
According to the weekly timetable found on this web, each level will be having three or four lessons per day, from Monday up to Friday.
Please, before starting our teaching learning activity both teachers and learners have to check well the Timetable found on this Web (Academic notice), this will help to know when and what course to teach and to study. It will also help to know when to submit the work given by the teacher.(3 days after studying the subject).
Parents, guardians, friends, brothers and sisters of our students have to assist them by accessing internet, computer or a smart phone to their children and help them to know how they are used (of course those who know).
Lessons are prepared according to COMPETENCE BASED CURRICULUM program for the SECOND TERM. So, students have to make their effort and own research for more understanding.
Through live chat, email, Telephone and Whatsapp, students will contact their teachers and ask questions for more explanations. Teachers contacts will be found at the end of their lessons.
Use of note books is very important for writing some summaries and explanations from Web and teachers.
At the end of every unit (lesson), there are activities (questions) prepared by teachers. Students will have to answer to them and send back their answers to subject teacher (via email and whatsapp) in no more than three days after uploading the course.
Every teacher will give the time when he/she will be available for a live chat on web or telephone where student will be asking questions .Their availability time will be written at the end of their lessons on Website.
Teachers will have to follow the example given here showing how their lessons must be titled.
Title Example: WEDNESDAY 19-8-2020-MATHEMATICS-S2-Unit 3 Lesson 1. SIMULTANEOUS LINEAR EQUATIONS AND INEQUALITIES page1-8 – Teacher Tuyisenge Venuste, Kalinda Theoneste, Tuyishime Yvette.
